Riding Toward Inclusion: The Evolution of the World of Soul® Motorcycle Community into a DEI Initiative

As the old saying goes, "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul." A common passion for riding brings people together, so does the spirit within riders to impact to communities they live and serve in on issues that matter to them. Motorcycling is a diverse culture that we continue to develop, grow and celebrate.
As the old saying goes, "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul." A common passion for riding brings people together, so does the spirit within riders to impact to communities they live and serve in on issues that matter to them. Motorcycling is a diverse culture that we continue to develop, grow and celebrate.

The World of Soul® Motorcycle Community began as a vibrant social network, uniting over 9,600 motorcyclists and clubs. What started as a way to bring riders together for the love of the open road has transformed into a powerful initiative for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Diversity: Connecting Riders from All Walks of Life

Diversity within the World of Soul® means bringing together individuals who might not ordinarily connect. It’s about making sure that riders from various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences feel welcome and valued. This diversity enriches the motorcycling experience, fostering a more vibrant and dynamic community.

Equity: Creating Opportunities for All

Equity is at the heart of the initiative, ensuring that everyone has a fair shot and that previously marginalized voices are heard and uplifted. This includes:

  • Creating opportunities for riders from underserved backgrounds.

  • Providing access to resources that level the playing field.

  • Supporting equal representation in membership, leadership, and participation.

Inclusion: Correcting the Past and Shaping the Future

Inclusion helps correct historical imbalances in motorcycling—particularly when organizations once excluded certain groups from membership and participation. Today, the World of Soul® Motorcyclist Association ensures everyone is welcome—at events, in dealerships, across the marketplace, and throughout the riding experience.

Economic Equity: Driving Economic Empowerment Through Inclusion

Equity isn't just social—it’s also economic. The acceptance and support of the World of Soul Motorcyclist Association by dealerships and the broader motorcycle industry opens doors to:

  • New business opportunities for underrepresented communities.

  • Expanded marketplace representation.

  • Economic empowerment and sustainable growth through participation in an inclusive network.

By embracing DEI, the motorcycle industry not only diversifies its audience but also shares the economic benefits with those who’ve historically been left out.

A Holistic Approach to Community and Empowerment

The transformation of the World of Soul Motorcycle Community into a DEI initiative is about more than riding. It’s about enriching lives, supporting families, and uplifting communities through:

  • Cultural engagement.

  • Personal and professional development.

  • Educational advocacy and youth empowerment.

This holistic approach ensures motorcycling becomes a platform for real, lasting social change.

A Positive Narrative in a Complex Climate

In a time when DEI has become a politically charged issue, the World of Soul® Motorcyclist Association offers a refreshing alternative: a positive, unifying model that celebrates shared passions and collective purpose. By emphasizing community, opportunity, and collaboration, it reframes DEI as something constructive and empowering—not divisive.

Let the spirit continue to move you to improve you and those around you. That's a World of Soul®.
